Thirty-six years ago, as my flight descended toward Pearson International Airport, I saw Canada for the first time—lights shimmering in the darkness like scattered stars. That moment has never left me. Neither has the journey that followed—one of identity, belonging, and responsibility. As a first-generation Canadian, I have put down roots, faced challenges, and embraced this country with gratitude. Today, more than ever, Canada needs all of us together.
